The District 1 Fire Academy is a 6+ month fire academy that provides Volunteer Firefighters the needed education to respond to emergencies. Classes meets twice a week and on every other Saturday. Some of the training provided includes;

Firefighter Safety
Wildland Fire Safety
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
Hose Loads, Ladders and other Fire Equipment
Structure, Vegetation and Vehicle Fire Suppresion
Fire Extinguishers
Hose Lays
Rural Water Supply
Forcible Entry
Search and Rescue
Building Construction
Roof Operations and Ventilation
Live Fire and Flashover Training

Certification are Provided from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security in the following:

Mandatory Firefighter
Firefighter I  SCBA_Maze_21
Firefighter II
Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness
Hazardous Materials First Responder Operational
Vehicle Extrication
Swift Water Awareness
Rope Rescue Awareness
Confined Space Rescue Awareness
Structural Collapse Rescue Awareness
Search and Rescue Awareness
